An ICT Assistant will be stationed in the Vientiane Country Office. He/she will report to Sr. ICT Assistant in Vientiane.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist Senior ICT Assistant to manage the operation and maintenance of the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems
• Receive, test, and install ICT equipments
• Maintain all Operating Systems, commercial, business and anti-virus software, ensuring compliance with registrations and upgrades
• Install security telecommunications infrastructure as defined in the Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS) in support of staff security
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs on hardware equipment
• Office cable wiring
• Maintain and analyze telecommunications data and statistics to be able to identify, recommend and implement cost saving measures
• Identify appropriate standards to procure telecommunications equipment at the least cost and in the most expedient manner
• Assist Senior ICT Assistant to check the ICT items to prevent the lose and missing
• Implement general ICT tasks assigned by Supervisor

Education:
Satisfactory completion of Secondary school education, plus recognized certificates in radio communications or in another related electronic
communication field.

Experience:
• At least three-four years of progressively responsible experience in radio
communications, and use of telex and facsimile operations.
• Very good knowledge of the local language and English, and, depending on the country, working knowledge of another official WFP
language.
